The Salt Lake City-based healthcare organization, Intermountain Health has announced the implementation of Epic EMR Software to boost interoperability and enhance healthcare delivery for its patients. Interoperability is crucial for Intermountain Health as it will support the seamless exchange of patient data and make way for care coordination necessary for high-quality patient care. The Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Software implementation is set to be completed by 2025.

Intermountain Heath will transition to Epic Solutions, the comprehensive and single EHR platform that will be utilized for the health system which has 33 hospitals and 385 clinics in seven states.

The decision to opt for Epic EHR Software was a combined decision from the hospital practice providers, clinicians, nurses, and EMR systems users. The new software implementation aims to improve both the physician and patient experience, streamline workflows, and drive interoperability.
