Medial EarlySign receives $30 million funding, Orion Health successfully debuts machine learning service, Real Time Medical unveils healthcare quality assurance system featuring assist from Google Cloud.

Medial EarlySign announced a $30 million Series B round of financing at HIMSS18. This funding brought company’s total funding to $50 million. Medial EarlySign is a machine learning organization that aims at improving non-communicable disease management and patient management.

The round was led by Marius Nacht’s investment arm aMoonFund. Nacht is commonly known as Check Point Software Technologies’ co-founder. The deal further included the involvement of Horizons Ventures and High-speed trading firm Final founder Nir Kalkstein who is also the co-founder of Medial EarlySign.

Medial EarlySign uses Artifiial Intelligence to leverage existing blood test results along with EHR data to offer exact insights to medical organizations as they conclude the best methodology to enhancing patients’ health.

Medial EarlySign co-founder and CEO Ori Geva said, “There is an incredible volume of meaningful routine healthcare data. Yet, while these data are electronically stored and available, they are still underutilized, and providers can glean much more actionable intelligence from it. Our expertise in these data and predictive health technology allows us to provide valuable insights and create improved actionable opportunities for early intervention, improved decision making, more effective care management, and physician and patient empowerment.”

Orion Health also announced their machine learning service named Amadeus Intelligence. The service is designed to assist the healthcare industry in reducing operating costs and consecutively improving patient care. The announcement of the new service was led by a new research in machine learning. Orion Health is further exploring meaningful ways utilizing which waste in healthcare could be minimized and clinicians could be assisted in making more accurate medical decisions at the point of care.

Orion Health CEO Ian McCrae said, “More than $1 trillion in the U.S. is wasted each year on costly administration and avoidable hospital readmissions. Orion Health’s Amadeus Intelligence will use machine learning models initially to predict patient costs and readmission risks, analyze clinical and financial outliers and enable accurate diagnosis coding and quality metric reporting to improve decision making at the point of care and target resources that will result in significant cost savings.”
