Box Butte General Hospital (BBGH) has started the implementation process of transitioning from its Centriq software solution. The hospital system in Nebraska has begun a MEDITECH EHR Software implementation to streamline clinical workflows and help deliver high-quality care. Electronic Health Records software is the next step in the advancement of healthcare and that can greatly improve the patient and provider relationship. The real-time availability of crucial patient data can support the provider’s decision-making process and provide better care to the community.

The MEDITECH mock live event

The BBGH MEDITECH project teams executed a mock live event from September 20 to September 22. MEDITECH EHR Software specialists came on the campus to work with the hospital’s superuser. A superuser is a person whom the BBGH team members can ask for guidance and training to better understand the workings of the new EMR system to their complete benefit.

The project team designated different patient scenarios from the current Centriq system and ran them through the Expanse EHR Software system. The patient scenarios were taken from old records.

The hospital’s project team worked in collaboration with the MEDITECH project team to input BBGH’s data into the electronic health records system.

Post-mock live

The software system will be fine-tuned by the team members based on what they found. Before the new system goes live the end-user training will be completed. The hospital is taking careful steps to test the MEDITECH system and how the system works throughout the organization. The upgraded software solution must work seamlessly to help providers offer the best care to their patients.

The software had to go live on November 2nd but it is postponed and the new data has not yet been disclosed.

Benefits of effective EHR software training

EHR software training is critical for the success of Box Butte General Hospital. With effective training sessions, there will be better charting and coding accuracy and improved productivity for clinicians. Quality training is key for the best EHR use to streamline clinical, financial, and administrative workflows.
