The EMR software provider company, CPSI recently joined the Apple Health Records beta project to improve patient data access to the patients. The Apple Health Records are now available to all CPSI EMR users.
CPSI is the latest company that signed on to Apple Health Records beta project to improve patient care. Allowing the users of its Evident EHR software to give patients access to their data through the Apple Health Records feature, CPSI EHR will allow users to see health information from multiple providers and practices in a single view via Apple iOS devices.
Julie Jones, CEO Community Hospital said, “Giving our patients access to this type of technology has many benefits to our patients and staff. We have found that our patients are much more informed of their current health and care status, which helps our clinical staff focus more time on proactive treatment and better care outcomes for their patients.”
The member patients who are a part of CPSI Evident community can now access data from multiple hospitals and practices including medications, procedures, vital signs, allergies, conditions, and immunizations.
Boyd Douglas, President and CEO CPSI said, “Our goal is to help our community healthcare providers deliver the kind of care that they want to deliver. Health Records on iPhone is one more way our clients can engage their community and empower their patients.”
There are more than 4,600 ambulatory and acute healthcare facilities across the country that use the CPSI EHR system. Patients that belong to small and rural areas that use CPSI can now easily access their health records.
According to I Lead, Ricky Bloomfield, apple previously worked with other top health IT software companies like Cerner, athenahealth and Epic. Addressing the ONC 2nd Interoperability Forum, Bloomfield said, “It makes it very easy for you to manage your health information. You as a user have complete control over who has access to the data. If you don’t want to share it, it won’t be shared. It stays private on your device until you decide to share it.”
The Apple Health Records were launched in January 2018, and since then more than 80 health IT systems have adopted them. Early users include Rush University Medical Center, Cerner Health Clinic, Dignity Health, and ten others.
All the 12 healthcare executives at participating organizations mutually agreed Apple will likely be successful in its efforts to enter the health IT sector.
